Jonas Aumiller

German pianist Jonas Aumiller is the winner of the 2021 Brahms Competition in Detmold. He was a finalist in the 2019 Busoni Competition and second prize winner of the Ettlingen Piano Competition 2018. He has won first prizes in the Premio Roberto Melini International Piano Competition (Baselga di Pinè, Italy), PianoTalents International Piano Competition (Milano, Italy) and the Schumann Junior Competition (Zwickau, Germany).

Mr. Aumiller has performed at the Bellevue Palace in Berlin as a guest of the former President of Germany, Joachim Gauck. He has given recitals for the renowned German concert series Winners and Masters, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the Mozart Foundation in Italy and the Summit Music Festival in New York.

A former scholarship holder of the Jürgen-Ponto Foundation and the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, Mr. Aumiller is currently an awardee of the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation.

Mr. Aumiller was born in 1998 in Munich (Germany) and began piano lessons at the age of seven. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree “summa cum laude” from the Conservatorio F.A. Bonporti (Trento, Italy) under the tutelage of Massimiliano Mainolfi. Mr. Aumiller holds a Graduate Diploma from the Juilliard School (New York), where he studied with the world-famous pianist and teacher Sergei Babayan, and is currently a Master’s student at the Cleveland Institute of Music in the studio of Maestro Babayan.

A huge admirer of the pianistic traditions of the 20th century, Mr. Aumiller regularly performs his own piano transcriptions in his recitals.
